Castlegate in Sheffield, UK shares a dual identity between the local and the new communities under new regeneration programme, each communities seek to protect their identities and ignore others.At the centre, a new fruit market shop and a lunchtime cafe for regular Castle Market shoppers and office workers is set up to ease this tension. Customers are rewarded with seeds and encourage to plant across the their space in Castlegate. Over time, edible plants and vegetation emerge and redefine Castlegate: an benifical urban space shaped and shared together by different communities.
